In addition to helping advance and protect this magnificent breed, membership in the Irish Wolfhound Club of Canada comes with many benefits. You will have access to the experience of long-time breeders and owners who can mentor you and assist you with any questions you might have. Learn about health, grooming, showing, training, and much more through educational seminars, plus have the opportunity to meet a wonderful group of like-minded people at our various events.
Our members are involved in many areas of dog activities, such as showing dogs in conformation exhibitions, obedience, rally and agility competitions, lure coursing and straight racing events, breeding, training, therapy dog visitations and last but not least, enjoying field trips with their companions. They also participate in parades, festivals, and pet fairs; this allows the public to meet and interact with the dogs and learn about this unique breed. The IWCC offers newcomers a complimentary membership. Our fiscal year runs from January 1 to December 31. Regardless of the date you join, new members shall be exempt from paying their membership dues for the remainder of that calendar year. Any new member joining after October 31 shall automatically have their year of free membership deferred to the start of the following year. The online version of our quarterly club magazine, “The Bulletin,” is included with membership.
