The Irish Wolfhound Club of Canada (IWCC) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the protection and advancement of the Irish Wolfhound breed. It is the only official Irish Wolfhound Club registered with, and recognized by, the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC).
Our membership includes people of all ages, and from all walks of life: Wolfhound owners, or should we say “those owned by their hounds” (both past or present); those planning to add a hound to their families in the future; and admirers of this beautiful, regal and gentle dog. Club membership provides the opportunity to meet others who share the same enthusiasm, love and admiration for the breed, and to participate in various club activities.
In addition, the IWCC serves to acquaint the public with information about the pros and cons of owning an Irish Wolfhound. It provides rescue and re-homing services for Irish Wolfhounds in need, and presents Irish Wolfhounds in a favourable light, without exploitation.
This website is perpetually evolving. We welcome your suggestions, links, files, pictures, and ideas, so that we may more fully represent the IWCC community.
We hope our website provides the information you need.
The IWCC offers newcomers a complimentary membership. Our fiscal year runs from January 1 to December 31. Regardless of the date you join, new members shall be exempt from paying their membership dues for the remainder of that calendar year. Any new member joining after October 31 shall automatically have their year of free membership deferred to the start of the following year.
